How fierce was this collection by Raf? It was EVERYTHING I wanted this season from Him. The fact that he was able to inject his own aesthetic more this season while keeping true to the house's DNA was perfect. Bravo, Raf.
Don't even get me started on the flawless soundtrack. That gorge opening symphony piece and that Kylie Minogue cover of "Slow" were epic, but my favorite track has to be "Animals" by Martin Garrix.
Now, grab your nearest Dior-ish S/S 2014 piece, blast this song on your headphones, and strut on that damn sidewalk like you're damn Sasha Luss mmkay!
So someone on TFS found out through a photographer on Tumblr that she was doing Vaccarello and I was crying like a baby, having a prayer circle, and hoping homegurl shows up and then BAM! She actually, freakin' walked the Vaccarello show yesterday! WERQ, hunty!
A close-up of the goddess' beauty:
Here are some streetstyle pics I also found of her in her TFS thread. Honestly, she looks so genuinely happy. I haven't seen her like this in years. Damn.
My only complaint is that I seriously wish she would make an effort towards her streetstyle. Like gurl, I know you have it in you. And those sunglasses are not even cute, but I could honestly not even give a fuck since she actually walked a damn runway. I'll let it slide...
Now, prayer circle tonight at my house so that she walks the Balmain show tomorrow and shows up at Chanel. If she shows up at Chanel, I'll lose it. She hasn't walked since SS11 (I think?) and I need a Snejana + Chanel moment ASAP.
There's no doubt that Tomas Maier is a talented designer, but this has to be my least favorite Bottega Veneta collection. I think it's fantastic how Tomas and the house played with fabrics and created interesting shapes. However, rather than looking mesmerizing, many of the looks were unflattering. I did love the idea of pairing crisp shirts with ruffled pieces. As for details, I loved the embellishments on Sasha Luss' dress.
I'm also a big fan of the beauty look the model's sported. I thought it was natural and light which highly complimented the lightness of the clothes.
I may have rolled my eyes once or twice while watching the Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2014 show, but I will give Domenico and Stefano some credit when it came to the shoes and accessories. Let's start off with the embellished Grecian sandals, which I'm salivating over as I type this.
I loved how they were paired with that red, plastic-fringe dress on Kasia for the finale look.
To die for. I love the Grecian vibe they're exuding but they're so glamorous with those lovely stones. The bags were for the most part unsatisfactory except for these medallion bags.
I also thought it was fantastic that the models sported medallion headbands, which were utterly chic. It looked so cute here on Sasha Luss.
I am absolutely sorry for the lack of updates and posting on here. Once again, school and retail has been consuming my life.
(Grabbing a snack with Kelvin 2 weeks ago. Outfit: Celine t-shirt. Michael Kors watch)
I have so many blog posts on things I'm loving (editorials, that 3.1 Phillip Lip for Target collection, etc.) and I'll try my best to blog it all ASAP. Ugh, I'm dying inside not having the time to blog about the current collections! I have so many I'm obsessing about.
New York Fashion Week is here! Let's start off with BCBG Max Azria, one of the shows I always look forward to when it comes to casting.
I loved the idea that Max and Lubov reconstructed and played around with the classic mens shirt. I love that the label always does those effortless long dresses. They appear so light and ideal for the spring/summer season and for the woman that needs something easy yet stylish. It wasn't particularly my favorite collection from the label (how can you top that slightly grunge, urban collection from last season) but there truly were dozens of fantastic pieces. My favorite looks below:
I also have to congratulate Lubov and Max for entering their 25th year of business this year Major kudos.
p.s. You're probably obsessed with the soundtrack too, right? I urge you to download that "Get Lucky" cover by Daughter. It's just too good.
He does photography and designing, but what about videos? Well, Slimane's first attempt at videos is finally here with a video to introduce the house's classic "Ballerina" shoes starring Lida Fox and Gracie Van Gastel.
Love the Cherry Glazerr track "Trick Or Treat Dancefloor" playing while Lida and Gracie look effortlessly graceful donning Slimane's edgy, grunge pieces from the fall/Winter 2013 collection. While the overall vision for the video is absolutely beautiful, those ballerina flats are quite rad. Now, is it possible for me to have Lida's graceful ballet moves and looks? Sigh.
But seriously, keep the breathtaking and utterly cool videos coming, Hedi.
